Excuse me, but I need to have a small rant

Considering the amount of buisness I have put the Royal Mail's way lately due to eBay sales and plenty of transactions via the Lush forum, they are really doing their best to piss me off.

Yesterday, a item I sold on eBay in August finally arrived at its intended destination. The postie on a particular round in Oxford, upon finding the intended recipient (to whom I shall refer to as Fred) not at home one fine August day, failed to leave a card announcing the attempted delivery of said parcel. After leaving a decent interval, Fred e-mailed me, concerned as to the non-appearance of his parcel. I asked Fred to check with the sorting office in Oxford, which he did, and drew a blank. Having prudently obtained a proof of posting, I set about the tortuous process of applying to the Royal Mail for compensation. Last week, I went to pick up a parcel from my local sorting office only to find it was the missing parcel! Oxford sorting office had decided in September that Fred wasn't coming to collect his parcel and sent it back to me, but heaven only knows where it been since then.

I re-sent the parcel on Monday and it arrived in Oxford on Tuesday. The Royal Mail have yet to reply to my complaint e-mail.

Today in an unrelated incident, I tried to post a parcel and failed. This side of town used to have 4 post offices but they closed down 2 to save money. The nearest one to me was saved but is now temporarily closed as Tesco bought the shop and kicked the post office out. Despite having over 6 months notice they still haven't managed to replace it, though they say they indend to. Now, the 4th post office is also temporarily closed for refurbishment. Good planning someone! I couldn't to out to a village post office as they close early on Wednesdays and I really didn't want to go to the town centre and pay to park the car just to post my parcel.

So I came home and shouted a bit.
